Led by a local professional musician with over 25 years of experience, this drumming workshop connects you with Panama's rich African and Indigenous heritage through the universal language of rhythm. Your instructor is a multi-percussionist, musician, and composer who studied Classical Music at the Conservatory of Music of Panama and earned a Master's Degree in Jazz and Afro-Caribbean Music from the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music. With deep knowledge of Panama's tambor culture and its historical importance, you will learn authentic rhythmic patterns while understanding the stories behind the beats. No prior musical experience is required - all skill levels are welcome. You will learn to play traditional Panamanian drums, discovering the Afro-Caribbean patterns that have been passed down through generations. Through the storytelling power of the tambor, you will connect with Panama's African and Indigenous roots in a way that goes beyond typical tourist experiences.
